We have always dreamed to run a place where we could simply do things we like. The recipe seemed easy: find an old place with character, pour some jazz into it, mix it with cinema (classic, of course!), add cosy furniture from the 60s and serve top-quality Italian espresso. It was our beloved idea that finally became true. We believe that you will like it, too. |

When we first saw that abandoned cinema in the middle of picturesque Vianden, we instantly fell in love. That was simply it! A 200-year old building, full of character and with huge potential. The renovation (or shall we say, reanimation) lasted over two years. |

Ancien Cinéma is a place where culture happens. From traditional painting exhibitions to avant-garde installations, from classic movies to independent productions, from Ella Fitzgerald to Norah Jones, it brings together an art gallery, old school cinema and a music club. Special programmes for children and an inspiring kids’ corner are also offered. Top quality café bar with carefully selected beverages, finger food, home-made desserts and a shop with art and craft, books and photos make Ancien Cinéma an enjoyable experience. The space can also be booked for private screenings, celebrations, conferences, etc. |

Ancien Cinéma has been thoroughly reconstructed. While we tried to preserve as much original elements as we could, today, you can enjoy a pleasingly refurbished place. Old limestone walls, original cinema seats and antique spotlights are accompanied by cosy sofas, vintage chairs and elegant tables from the 60s. Oversize film snapshots and framed black & white photos bring about sentiment of classic movies. |

Our DJ resident Bumi aka DJ Phillips Bumi travels through a broad range of styles: lounge, deephouse, electro, techhouse, deeptechno, chill-out, bristol, blending different compositions to create music that flows seamlessly through the night. With a long experience behind the turntables, various live projects with instrumentalist, as well as artist management career, Bumi has played in some of the premier nightspot all across the Europe, including Scandals Loung (Amsterdam), Corsica (London), Outside (Wroclaw), Mandragora (Gdynia), Foksal 19 (Warsaw). ‘Music is my passion’ – says Bumi. ‘It has always been. No matter how big the music event is, I always put a lot of pressure on quality, form and audience management’. As of this year he is a resident DJ in Ancien Cinéma.
